Tuesday, 21 May 2020: Shaikhul Hadith of the renowned Islamic University of Asia, Darul Uloom Deoband, Mufti Saeed Ahmad Palnpuri passed away on May 19th, 2020, corresponding to the 25th of Ramdhan1441, in Sanjivini hospital of Mumbai which has shaken the entire Islamic world to be overwhelmed with emotions of grief. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

The founder of Markazul Ma’arif, member of the parliament, and the member of the advisory committee of Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Badrudddin Ajmal Qasmi while declaring the demise of late Mufti as a tragic loss for the entire Muslim Ummah said, he was not only a great treasure for Darul Uloom, but he was also a great esteem for the entire ummahas well. In this contemporary era, when the entire Muslim Ummah is suffering from the shortage of great Islamic scholars, his demise has made such a huge aperture that will hardly be fulfilled.

He further said that all the teachers of Darul Uloom Deoband, philanthropists, and clerics throughout the world are offering their heartfelt condolence to his demise and praying for eternal peace for the departed soul and courage for the braved family.

 He worked as a teacher of hadith for about 50 years in Darul Uloom Deoband. A part from this he compiled the commentary of many tremendous books such as Hujatul lahil Balifgah, Tirmidhi and Bukhari Shareef along with various other reliable books that the ummah will never be able to repay for his splendid service. We are sure his noble service will last till the Day of the Judgment. 

He also said, all the teachers of Markazul Ma’arif, students and all the family members of Ajmal are equally expressing their deepest shock and grief over his demise and praying for his soul to rest in peace in the heavens.

The Director of MMERC, Maulana Burhanuddin Qasmi said, the late Mufti was a beloved teacher, a great aspiration for others and a very kind pedagogue for all of us.  He further said, despite the lockdown we made every possible effort to remember him in our duas as it was the only option for us.  As soon as, we came to know about the news of his demise the students of MMERC and its alumnus of WhatsApp group containing the graduates of Darul Uloom Deoband and students of late Mufti from across the globe recited the Glorious Qur’an and did Isal-e sawab which continued throughout the day. Alhamdulillah.

Similarly Markazul Maa’rif Hojai Asam held a condolence meeting where they recited Quran and did Isal-e swab too. The late mufti was buried in “Oshiwara Muslim Qbaristan” which is located near Markazul Ma’arif.   Some of the teachers and students got an opportunity to dig his grave and attended his funeral salah too.

 After entombment Maulana Qasmi said that, we are fortunate enough that the distance between Markazul Ma’arif and Oshiwara Muslim Qabristan is less than the distance that lies between Qasmi Qabristan and Ihatah Molsari. The teachers of MMERC, students and all well-wishers will surely pay a visit to the late’s grave Insha’Allah.

 All the people associated with Markazul Ma’arif pray that Almighty Lord illuminate the grave of Hazrat with radiance and grant him the highest rank in Jannatul Firdous. May Darul Uloom and all of us be gifted with his blessings and also endow his family and children with patience. Ameen.
